Hepatitis Australia made a submission on the draft Point of Care Testing (POCT) Standard to the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care to support safe, effective, and accessible testing.
The submission recommended including detention settings as POCT sites, broadening terminology to recognise trained peer and community workers as operators, strengthening patient linkage to care, improving results reporting and follow-up, and collecting Indigenous status to improve hepatitis B and hepatitis C surveillance data.
