HepLink Australia provides a confidential and free pathway to essential information and services, ensuring that everyone in Australia, whether you're living with viral hepatitis, newly diagnosed, a healthcare professional, or a community worker, can access the guidance, support, and care needed.
HepLink is here to connect people with trusted services, support informed decisions, and guide individuals and professionals alike through every step of the viral hepatitis journey.
What can HepLink do for healthcare professionals?
1. In-consultation support
HepLink now offers in-consultation support through their Nurse Navigator service.
Healthcare professionals can call 1800 437 222 during a consultation to receive expert guidance on clinical decision-making, navigating complex client needs, and improving patient outcomes. The Nurse Navigator can assist with treatment pathways, referrals, and practical advice – helping you support your patient in real time.
Available from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (AEDT) the HepLink Nurse Navigator is ready to support clinicians Australia wide.
2. Referals and linkage
If you have a patient or client affected by hepatitis B or hepatitis C, you can contact HepLink to find referral or linkage pathways. This could include:
- Finding an s100 prescriber for hepatitis B
- Finding a suitable specialist
- Finding low-cost services or incentives programs
- Finding a pharmacy that stocks medication for hepatitis B and hepatitis C
- Linkage to social services
- Linkage to support services such as advanced cancer care or legal advice services.
HepLink can also help you connect with other experienced healthcare professionals. For example, if you would like support with prescribing hepatitis C medication.
3. Workforce support and training
HepLink supports healthcare and community professionals with reliable information and practical advice about viral hepatitis—whether it's general guidance or help with specific cases.
They can also connect you with training delivered by community-based HepLink services, including:
- Responding to workplace injuries such as needlestick incidents
- In-house education on hepatitis testing, treatment, and care
- Training to reduce stigma and discrimination in healthcare and community settings
- Harm reduction and understanding risk
4. HepLink Network

HepLink is a partnership between Hepatitis Australia and community hepatitis organisations in every state and territory and collaborates with government, researchers, peak bodies and other service providers to support the national response to viral hepatitis in Australia. It is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
