Community Advisory Group: Advocacy opportunity for people with lived experience of liver disease, cirrhosis and/or liver cancer

Help guide a national clinical trial aiming to improve the detection of cirrhosis and screening for liver cancer in primary care.

Do you have lived experience of liver disease, cirrhosis and/or liver cancer? Or caring for someone who does? Would you like to help guide a national clinical trial aiming to improve the detection of cirrhosis and screening for liver cancer in primary care?

The CCIP Team from WA Health Translation Network is looking for up to 8 members from all over Australia, who have a lived experience of liver disease, cirrhosis and/or liver cancer to join this Community Advisory Group.

This plays an important role in providing advice on consumer relevant matters and to act as an advocate for this research study.

What experience do applicants need?

  • Lived experience of liver disease, cirrhosis and/or liver cancer, or caring for someone who does.
  • An open mind and willingness to partner with CCIP to make this trial the highest-quality research it can be.
  • Any non-medical skills that can help to improve the consumer relevance of our research or to communicate, network or advocate for this research.

The Consumer and Community Involvement Program (CCI Program) is an activity of the Western Australian Health Translation Network (WAHTN). The CCI Program supports consumers, community members and researchers to work in partnership to make decisions about health research priorities, policy and practice with the aim of improving health outcomes and ensuring community involvement becomes standard practice.
