ACT Hepatitis Resource Centre launches ‘Be Smart About Body Art’

On the 13th of June the ACT Hepatitis Resource Centre launched ‘Be Smart About Body Art’ – an educators’ kit for teachers and youth workers designed to support learning and increase awareness about viral hepatitis, including the risks associated with unsafe tattooing and body piercing.

“Hepatitis awareness and prevention education is a gap in learning for many young people. Data from the National Secondary Students and Sexual Health Survey show that knowledge of viral hepatitis and risk factors is poor” said John Didlick, Executive Officer of the ACT Hepatitis Resource Centre.
