'Excellence in Viral Hepatitis Health Promotion' Award

Award Eligibility
- A health promotion program, project implemented by an organisation or individual .
- The project, program or resource must have a significant focus on either viral hepatitis prevention, treatment, or support.
- The project demonstrates effective collaboration and community consultation
- The project demonstrates innovative or best practice approaches in health promotion
- The project should be able to demonstrate effective community outcomes and have undergone a partial or complete evaluation.
How to make a nomination
Nominations can be made by an individual or by an organisation. Nominations may be made by the individual or organisation hosting the project/program nominated.
To make a nomination you need to complete the awards Nomination form. This requires you to provide:
- Your contact details.
- The name and contact details of the organisation(s) or individual(s) that host the projects/program you are nominating for an award.
- The name of the project/program you are nominating for an award.
- A brief description of the project/program, including a brief rationale behind the program/project.
- A brief statement outlining how the project demonstrates each of the award eligibility.
- Any additional information that demonstrates how the project has excelled against the criteria listed above.
All nominations must be received by COB 26th September 2009.
Judging Criteria
The awards will be judged by a panel of three judges representing peak not-for-profit community organisations.
In judging the ‘Excellence in Viral Hepatitis Health Promotion’ award the following key criteria will be assessed. The projects/programs may not meet all of the following criteria but must demonstrate a commitment to respect and collaborate with the target group, innovative and effective practice, and excel in at least one of these areas.
Respect and collaboration
- Respect of the target group is evident in all aspects of the project/program
- A collaborative approach that engages members of the target group and/or partner organisations in planning and implementing the program/project is employed wherever possible.
- Demonstrates effective engagement with hard to reach communities
Innovation
- The project/program represents an innovative approach to viral hepatitis health promotion or an innovative development of a ‘tried and true’ method.
Effective practice
- The program has been reviewed to ensure processes are appropriate to achieve the objectives of the project/program.
- Evidence supports the project as effectively achieving its health promotion goals.
Winners will be announced at the National Hepatitis Health Promotion Conference Dinner on the 29th of October, 2009.
